Jeffrey obtained his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1997 and a Masters of Taxation (LLM) from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL, in 1998. He was honored with the CALI award for his outstanding performance in Advanced Tax Research at the Juris Doctorate Level and in Corporate Tax at the LLM level. Post-graduation, Jeffrey joined KPMG/Peat Marwick, LLP (now known as KPMG, LLP) at the firm’s Mid-Atlantic Tax Practice. His proficiency in corporate, M&A, and asset protection made him an invaluable asset to Fortune 500 giants such as MCI/Worldcom, Sodexho/Marriott, and Hechinger Co.

In 2000, Jeffrey established JDKatz, PC, where he continued his advisory role, guiding high-profile business transactions, real estate dealings, and assisting affluent individuals with asset management and protection. As a tax strategist, he has overseen countless real estate transactions, both in the residential and commercial sectors, with a special focus on 1031 exchanges. In January 2022, Jeffrey co-founded a new business venture to better facilitate 1031 exchanges. The vision was clear and ambitious: assist investors in navigating the complexities of a 1031 exchange—no matter their experience, amass a portfolio of the best real estate opportunities for brokers and investors, and ensure every investor finds their ideal property. Aftertwo years of diligent research and planning, they secured a patent related to the implementation and methodology of a 1031 exchange platform with completely new abilities tailored to brokers and investors.

Beyond his business ventures, Mr. Katz frequently shares his insights in various media outlets, including but not limited to Washington Life Magazine, The Washington Business Journal, The Daily Record, Bloomberg BNA, and The Commercial Real Estate News. He has also been featured on NBC and Fox News, offering expertise on matters concerning business, tax, real estate, and estate planning. Outside of work, Jeffrey enjoys spending time with his family and rooting for the local Washington DC sports’ teams.

Attending the University of Baltimore School of Law, Jared graduated in the top 5% of his class, served as an Associate Comment Editor on University of Baltimore’s Law Review, and was President of the Real Estate Law Association. Prior to Law school, Jared played college basketball at Clark University and obtained a degree in finance from the University of Alabama. In 2023, he obtained his Maryland real estate brokerage license.

Professionally, Jared spent four (4) years working for commercial real estate developers, engaging in tasks ranging from leasing and renovation to acquisition matters. During law school, his legal acumen was further sharpened by working under two esteemed judges, one of whom was a part of the Maryland Supreme Court. In 2022, Jared joined JDKatz PC as an attorney. His specialization encompasses Corporate Law, Real Estate, and Tax Planning. As an attorney and broker, Jared is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between legal soundness and investment perspectives. Soon after joining the firm, Jared and Jeffrey quickly found they shared the same passion for real estate, leading them to collaboratively pioneer a new 1031 exchange concept. Their mission? To craft the world’s first premier 1031 exchange platform, adept at catering to every investor’s 1031 exchange requirements.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jared is a published author with contributions to the Maryland Daily Record and the University of Baltimore Law Review. He has also appeared on Fox News, shedding light on estate planning nuances. Outside of work, Jared enjoys travelling, reading, and playing pick-up basketball games.
